Why should I apply for a CEF grant?

A grant from the Country Education Foundation (CEF) will help you pay for educational purpose costs associated with any post-school educational and training expenses.

How much is a grant?

Generally, a local grant can be anywhere between $250-$5,000.

What can I spend the money on?

Your grant can be used for educational expenses and paid for via a reimbursement model. This could include accommodation, technology, fuel, food, living expenses, textbooks or tools.

How much detail do I need to include?

A short paragraph for most questions is strongly recommended.

Do my parents or guardian need to know that I’m applying?

If under the age of 18, your parent or guardian will need to support your application. If over 18, still let them know so they can help with verifying any information.

Why do you need to know my household income?

An indication of your household income is one tool we use to assess financial need. If you are not sure of your household income, ask your parents or guardian.

How are grants awarded?

The grants are awarded by your local CEF foundation. They will assess your application on the eligibility criteria and make their final decision based on your application and an interview.

I have submitted my application, now what?

Once you have submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation email (check your junk folder, just in case it has ended up there!) with your application reference. Your local foundation will then get in touch about an interview.
