Harden District Education Foundation was established to provide financial assistance and support to local youth to help them achieve their post-high school education, training and vocation aspirations.
We recognise that the cost of regional students pursuing further education and training is often much higher than their metropolitan counterparts and that sometimes, these costs can be prohibitive.
With this in mind, Harden fundraises throughout the year to provide financial grants to celebrate the aspirations of our local youth and help them achieve their goals.

Our local grants
Local grants are provided to enable rural and regional youth to continue their education and training post high school, whether that’s university study, a trade, a diploma or certificate, or an apprenticeship.
Local grant funds are given as reimbursements to cover educational expenses like textbooks, travel, laptops, accommodation, tools, uniforms and other study related costs.

What our Harden students & volunteers say
CEF was the reason why I managed to pay for my first couple of months of rent, as well as paying for groceries and textbooks. None of this would have been possible without CEF and I will forever be grateful for that.

The support CEF provide makes it easy to see why local rural communities really are the best. Harden has been an amazing place to have grown up, and the opportunities are still available if you look hard enough…I’d always love to come back and share experiences with the small town that raised me. There will always be jobs in agriculture as long as people want to be fed, have something to wear and have something to drink.
