We have done the hard work for you – all you need to do is read and get inspired.

So, you have finished those exams, taken that gap year or are ready for the workforce…There are so many things to take into consideration, especially if you are from a rural or regional area.  What do you do next? What do you need to do to get where you want to go? What financial support is available? Where are you going to live?

You may feel a lot of pressure, and the need to make some pretty big choices. The biggest ones could be what will I do once I’ve finished school? and I’ve had a gap year or a few, now what? And there are so many options, it can be hard to know which one will be best for you. University? Apprenticeship? Gap year? Or, do you just jump straight into the workforce?

If you are from rural and regional Australia, there is even more to think about. How will you manage financially? How far will you need to move away from home? Do you feel like you need to stay home to help the folks out?

This hub is designed to get you thinking, inspire and guide you. It can also help you navigate these questions, and many more.

Have you ever started to think about what you might do after school (or after those gap years!), and then been so bamboozled by the information out there you put it in the ‘too hard basket’? Us too.

We have tried to do all the hard work for you.

When it comes to post-school education for students from the country, what you find can be a little confusing, and the important things relevant to you can get lost in a sea of information. This resource is designed to collect all that information in one place, so you can find the help you need – whether you need advice on how to make your decision or what financial support is available. We have also worked with some of our fantastic partners who are experts on rural and regional education and other options for after school to provide great tips and resources all at your fingertips.

The site is simple to use, and you can read it all or pick and choose just the stuff you need – it’s all signposted and linked for easy-peasy navigation.

One of the best parts of this resource is our CEF student and alumni videos. We have collected videos from those who were once in your shoes. They will answer all those questions that you have, and the videos will be updated on a regular basis. And don’t worry if you miss one, all the videos will stay on the ‘Videos‘ section of the resource, that way the answers will be there for you, any time.
