The CEF Extra Program is here to boost your journey with extra scholarships funded by generous donors who believe in your potential. These scholarships are all about giving you that extra edge for your education and future career.

First, you need to apply and receive a grant from your local CEF foundation. Once you’re set with that, you are eligible for the extra scholarship opportunities available to take your education to the next level.

Audi Foundation-CEF Scholarships (STEM)

Thanks to Audi Foundation, the Audi Foundation-CEF Scholarships are to assist students who are studying STEM related degrees and programs to help ease the financial burden of achieving a qualification.

11 x $5,000 scholarships.

Selection Criteria:

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must:

  • Have applied and been deemed eligible for a local CEF grant
  • Be studying in a STEM related field (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) including apprenticeships, VET or university study.

CAANZ-CEF Scholarship

Thanks to CAANZ,  the CAANZ-CEF Scholarship, is for passionate accounting students to help ease the financial burden of achieving a higher education qualification.

$30,000 scholarship – $10,000 per year for 3 years.

Selection Criteria:

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be:

  • An Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Have applied and deemed eligible for a local CEF grant
  • Be approved for an offer of place or enrolled on a full time basis in an undergraduate Degree that meets CA Program academic requirements OR undertaking postgraduate study in the CA program while on a placement in a rural or regional area (with preference given to areas within the CEF footprint). CEF Animal and Veterinary Science Scholarship

Thanks to an anonymous donor, the CEF Animal and Veterinary Science Scholarship is designed to assist passionate animal and veterinary science students and ease the financial burden of achieving a higher education qualification.

2 x $10,000 per year.

Selection Criteria:

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must:

  • Be enrolled in an Animal and Veterinary Science course at an Australian university, with a preference to first year students; and
  • Have demonstrated financial need with a passion and desire to succeed in a regional setting.

Scholarship Conditions:

  • Remain enrolled on a full-time equivalent load for the duration of the scholarship; and
  • Maintain a pass average grade throughout the duration of the degree or program.

Clare Stella Maris Connell-CEF Scholarship (Western NSW)

The Clare Stella Maris Connell-CEF Scholarship is available to an eligible student from the nominated Western region of NSW including Cobar, Wilcannia, Nyngan, Ivanhoe, Tibooburra and Broken Hill.

1 x $2,000 scholarship per year.

Selection Criteria:

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must:

  • Reside or have attended school in Western NSW – Cobar, Wilcannia, Nyngan, Ivanhoe, Tibooburra and Broken Hill
  • Have applied and are eligible for CEF grant
  • Attending a CEF partner university.

Far West Scholarships

$10,000 per year for 3 years.

Selection Criteria:

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be:

  • Completing Year 12 at Broken Hill High School, Willyama High School, Wilcannia Central School or Menindee Central School.
  • Attending university the year after completing Year 12, having achieved satisfactory results in their schooling.
  • Relocating away from home to pursue full-time university study.

Eureka Benevolent Foundation University Scholarship

$10,000 per year for 3 years.

Selection Criteria:

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be:

  • Completing Year 12 at Broken Hill High School, Willyama High School, Wilcannia Central School or Menindee Central School.
  • Attending university the year after completing Year 12, having achieved satisfactory results in their schooling.
  • Relocating away from home to pursue full-time university study.

Zagora Foundation University Scholarship

Findex Community Fund-CEF Scholarships

Connecting young people with potential they didn’t know existed, The Findex Community Fund-CEF Scholarship is provided to a student studying in the finance, commerce or business related field.

2 x $5,000 scholarships.

Selection Criteria:

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must:

  • Have applied and deemed eligible for a local CEF grant
  • Be studying a finance, commerce or business related course

Futurity Education Foundation-CEF Teaching Scholarship

Thanks to Futurity Education Foundation, the Futurity Education Foundation-CEF Teaching Scholarship is designed to assist students in pursuing university studies in teaching and education and ease the financial burden of achieving a higher education qualification.

2 x $10,000 per year for 3 years.

Selection Criteria:

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must:

  • Have applied and received a local CEF grant;
  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate Education degree at an Australian university, with preference to first year students; and
  • Faced financial disadvantage and possibly extenuating circumstances when reaching their education goals.

Scholarship Conditions:

  • Remain enrolled on a full-time equivalent load for the duration of the scholarship; and
  • Maintain a pass average grade throughout the duration of the degree or program.

Ian McGregor Memorial-CEF Scholarship (Gwydir)

Thanks to the generosity of McGregor Gourlay, CEF offers the Ian McGregor Memorial-CEF Scholarship.

1 x $5,000 scholarship.

Selection Criteria:

To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must:

  • Be aged 16-25 years
  • Live in or attended school within CEF Gwydir region
  • Be entering first year of an undergraduate degree in agricultural science, business, finance, or information technology degree, on a fulltime basis.
  • Commit to participating in a 2-week work placement with a McGregor Gourlay – with mutually agreed timeframes

IEC Advisory-CEF Scholarship (Western NSW)

Thanks to the generosity of IEC Advisory, CEF offers the IEC Advisory-CEF  Scholarship.

$9,000 p.a. for up to three years of study ($3,000 per year)

Selection Criteria:

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must:

  • Be aged 16-25 years
  • Have lived in or attended school in Western NSW
  • Be entering your first year of a business, finance or technology degree on a fulltime basis
  • Be identified and receiving support from a local CEF foundation listed below.

The IEC Advisory-CEF Scholarship includes an annual 4-week paid work placement with IEC Advisory in Dubbo.

IEC Advisory CEF Scholarship

Jessica Walker Memorial Scholarship (Health)

In memory of Jessica Walker, this scholarship is offered each year to a motivated regional student, undertaking tertiary study in a health or allied health-related field.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • Have applied and received a local CEF grant;
  • Be enrolled in a health or allied health-related discipline, such as Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Psychology, at an Australian university;
  • Demonstrated financial need; and
  • Willingness to complete the Mental Health First Aid Australia certificate.

Value: $30,000 – $10,000 p.a. for three years

LiveBetter-CEF Nursing Scholarship

Selection Criteria:

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be:

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor of Nursing, or similar, on a full-time equivalent load, at an approved Australian university or training organisation.
  • From a location where LiveBetter has a presence; and
  • Where possible, have a strong desire to return to regional Australia as a registered nurse.

Scholarship Conditions

  • Remain enrolled on a full-time equivalent load for the duration of scholarship; and
  • Maintain a pass average grade throughout the duration of the degree or program.

 Value: $30,000 – $10,000 p.a. for three years

Mary Vernon-CEF Scholarship (Central Australia)

The Mary Vernon-CEF Scholarship, funded by the Vernon Foundation, is provided to a student from the Central Australia region. This scholarship provides significant financial support for a student to overcome the challenges associated with undertaking study from the Alice Springs area.

$12,500 per year for 3 years.

Selection Criteria:

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be:

  • Have applied and be approved for a grant from CEF Central Australia;
  • Be approved for an offer of place or enrolled on a full time basis in an undergraduate degree at an Australian university; and
  • Not hold any other major scholarship exceeding the value of $2,000 per annum.

MH Premium Farms-CEF Scholarship (Agriculture)

Selection Criteria:

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must:

  • Have applied and be receiving a grant from a local CEF foundation
  • Be approved for an offer of place or enrolled on a full-time equivalent load in Agriculture related study at an Australian university or training organisation.

Scholarship Conditions

  • Remain enrolled on a full-time equivalent load for the duration of the scholarship; and
  • Maintain a pass average grade throughout the duration of the degree or program.

 Value: $30,000 – $10,000 p.a. for up to three years of study.

Snow Foundation-CEF Scholarships

CEF has worked with Snow Foundation for many years. As well as supporting a number of CEF projects, they also provide additional scholarships to grant recipients from the local foundations of Shoalhaven, Snowy Monaro, Yass, Goulburn, Braidwood and Eurobodalla.

Stirling Pastoral-CEF Scholarship

Thanks to the generous support of Stirling Pastoral Company, this scholarship is available to a motivated, regional student, who is facing financial obstacles in achieving their educational goals.

$8,000 per year.

Selection Criteria:

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be:

  • Undertaking an undergraduate degree or other approved vocational education and training, on a full-time study load;
  • Nominated by their local foundation (with a preference for CEF Orange and Districts); and
  • Faced financial disadvantage and possibly extenuating circumstances when reaching their education goals, but demonstrates a strong commitment to achieving their goals.

Three Rivers UDRH-CEF Scholarships

Proudly supported by Charles Sturt University through the Three Rivers Department of Rural Health, extra funding and opportunities are available to students from the Three Rivers footprint, studying health at Charles Sturt University.

ACCOMMODATION SCHOLARSHIPS

CEF Extra includes accommodation opportunities. To be eligible, CEF students need to have applied and been accepted for a place at the institution AND apply directly with their CEF local foundation.

Please apply promptly to the college before the individual closing dates.

Dunmore Lang College-CEF Scholarship (Sydney)

The Dunmore Lang College – CEF  Scholarship is a part all-inclusive accommodation scholarship at Dunmore Lang Sydney. To be eligible for this scholarship you;

  • Must be approved for an offer of a place or enrolled at the College.
  • Applied and be eligible for a CEF Grant.

The successful student will still need to fund the remaining accommodation costs.

If you are interested in this scholarship, we suggest you complete the Dunmore Lang College application form as soon as possible.

Amount – Approximately half of your college fees.

ICMS-CEF Scholarship (Sydney)

The International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) scholarship program rewards the most promising students based on their effort, dedication, attitude and aptitude, demonstrated business acumen and motivation. This scholarship is a part accommodation and tuition scholarship at ICMS in Sydney.

To be eligible for this scholarship you;

  • Must be approved for an offer of a place or enrolled in an applicable Bachelor degree for 1st year at ICMS.
  • Submit the completed ICMS Scholarship application form by the due date.
  • Applied and be eligible for a local grant.

The successful student will still need to fund the remaining accommodation and tuition costs.

Value – Up to $10,000 as accommodation and tuition fee subsidies.

Closing date – Apply to ICMS before 5pm, 30th November 2024 and your foundation before applications close. Check dates with your CEF local foundation.

#Panel interviews will be conducted by ICMS as a final stage prior to scholarship selections.

St Andrew's College-CEF Scholarships (Sydney)

St Andrew’s College-CEF Scholarships
In partnership with St Andrew’s College, Sydney

$50,000 for up to 4 students in accommodation scholarships available in 2025. Applications close December 31, 2024.

Apply directly to St Andrew’s College AND to CEF.

Available for successful Bursary applicants of St Andrew’s College, Sydney and who receive a local CEF grant.

St Martin's College-CEF Scholarship (Wagga)

St Martin’s College-CEF Scholarship is a part self-catered accommodation scholarship at St Martin’s College located at Charles Sturt Wagga Wagga. To be eligible for this scholarship you;

  • Must be approved for an offer of a place or enrolled at the College.
  • Applied and receiving a local CEF Grant.

The successful student will still need to fund the remaining accommodation costs.

If you are interested in this scholarship, complete the St Martin’s College application form as soon as possible, ideally by 31st December.

Amount – $5,000
How to apply – Apply to your local foundation plus apply to St Martin’s College.
Closing date – St Martin’s before December 31st 2024 and your CEF local foundation before applications close. Check dates with your local foundation.

Sancta Sophia College-CEF Bursaries (Sydney)

In partnership with Sancta Sophia College, Sydney.

Sancta Sophia College is a vibrant and diverse residential community at the University of Sydney, dedicated to empowering women. The College is a home-away-from-home for 200 undergraduate women and 100 postgraduate women and men from across Australia and around the world. The majority of the undergraduate women at Sancta come from regional and rural Australia.

Applications for residency at Sancta Sophia College in 2025 are being accepted now from female students intending to study at the University of Sydney, the University of Technology Sydney, or the University of Notre Dame Sydney.

Eligibility – The Sancta Sophia College-CEF Bursary is available for successful undergraduate applicants of Sancta Sophia College who are also eligible for a CEF grant.

Amount – The bursary provides undergraduate women with a $7,000 discount on residential fees for the 2025 academic year. This equates to a saving of approximately $170 per week over a 41-week undergraduate residential contract. Credits are applied in 50% instalments in each semester.

How to apply – Apply directly to Sancta Sophia College and to CEF. In applying to Sancta Sophia College, submit both a residency and scholarship application, and input the Referral Code ‘CEF2025’ in the Personal Statements section of the application form. The scholarship application form is included within the online residency application.

Closing date – Submit your residency and scholarship application to Sancta Sophia College and apply to your local CEF foundation before 1st October 2024. It is highly recommended that applicants submit their application and lodge all documentation to Sancta Sophia College well before the closing date, due to high demand for a place at Sancta.
