CEF EXTRA

CEF Extra is a program designed to provide additional support to eligible CEF students. We work closely with generous individuals and organisations to offer extra funding opportunities, in addition to local grants.

Agaru - CEF Scholarships (QLD)

Thanks to the Agaru Fund, we have up to $5,000 in scholarship funding available for students from QLD undertaking further education.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must;

  • Have applied and been deemed eligible for a QLD local CEF grant

Audi Foundation - CEF Scholarships (STEM)

Thanks to our partner Audi Foundation who have a passion for education and innovation,  CEF is again offering Audi Foundation – CEF Scholarships. Several $5,000 scholarship are available. CEF National will assess and manage your application, and your local foundation will administer your scholarship if you are successful.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must;

  • Have applied and been deemed eligible for a local CEF grant
  • be studying in a STEM related field (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) including apprenticeships, VET or university study.

Value – $5000

Broken Hill Scholarships

McLean Foundation University Scholarship

1 x $21,000 scholarship – $7,000 per year for 3 years / Applications close 30 November

How to apply – you will need to apply to your local foundation (Far West NSW), CEF National will assess and manage your application and scholarship if successful APPLY NOW

Only available for students completing Year 12 at Broken Hill High School or Willyama High School, scholarships are subject to acceptance for a university degree course.

Eureka Benevolent Foundation University Scholarship

Zagora Foundation University Scholarship

CAANZ - CEF Scholarship

Thanks to the generosity of the Chartered Accountants Benevolent Foundation and Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), CEF offers the CAANZ – CEF  Scholarship, 1 x $21,000 scholarship – $7,000 per year for 3 years. CEF National will assess and manage your application and scholarship if successful.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must;

  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • have applied and deemed eligible for a local CEF grant
  • be approved for an offer of place or enrolled on a full time basis in an undergraduate Degree that meets CA Program academic requirements OR undertaking postgraduate study in the CA program while on a placement in a rural or regional area (with preference given to areas within the CEF footprint). Stirling Pastoral - CEF Education Alliance Scholarship

The CEF Education Alliance is an exciting opportunity for CEF recipients. This scholarship program provides funding and mentoring to nurture a student’s education aspirations.

Thanks to the generous support of Stirling Pastoral Company.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must;

  • Have applied and deemed eligible for a local grant with a NSW CEF foundation
  • Be enrolled in your first year of an undergraduate degree.
  • Be nominated by your local foundation

Value – $24,000 ($8,000 x 3 years)

Clare Stella Maris Connell – CEF Scholarship (Western NSW)

The Clare Stella Maris Connell – CEF Scholarship is available to an eligible student from the nominated Western region of NSW including Cobar, Willcania, Nyngan, Ivanhoe, Tibooburra and Broken Hill.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must;

  • Reside or have attended school in Western NSW – Cobar, Willcania, Nyngan, Ivanhoe, Tibooburra and Broken Hill
  • Have applied and are eligible for CEF grant
  • Attending a CEF partner university.

Value – $2000

Findex Community Fund - CEF Scholarships

The Findex Community Fund’s vision is to create equal access to opportunity for people isolated by location or circumstance.

Connecting young people with potential they didn’t know existed, The Findex Community Fund-CEF Scholarship is provided to a student studying in the finance, commerce or business related field.

Eligibility:

  • have applied and deemed eligible for a local CEF grant
  • be studying a finance, commerce or business related course

Value: $3000 scholarships

Ian McGregor Memorial - CEF Scholarship (Gwydir)

Thanks to the generosity of McGregor Gourlay, CEF offers the Ian McGregor Memorial – CEF  Scholarship. To be eligible for this scholarship you must;

  • be aged 16-25 years
  • live in or attended school within CEF Gwydir region
  • be entering first year of an undergraduate degree on a fulltime basis
  • be studying an ag science, business, finance, or information technology related degree
  • Commit to participating in a 2-week work placement with a McGregor Gourlay – with mutually agreed timeframes

Scholarship Value – $5000

IEC Advisory - CEF Scholarship (Western NSW)

Thanks to the generosity of IEC Advisory, CEF offers the IEC Advisory – CEF  Scholarship. To be eligible for this scholarship you must;

  • be aged 16-25 years
  • have lived in or attended school in Western NSW
  • be entering your first year of a business, finance or technology degree on a fulltime basis
  • be identified by CEF as requiring support.

The IEC Advisory – CEF Scholarship includes an annual 4-week paid work placement with IEC Advisory in Dubbo.

IEC Advisory CEF Scholarship

Mary Vernon - CEF Scholarship (Central Australia)

The Mary Vernon-CEF Scholarship is provided to a student from the Central Australia Region and is funded by the Vernon Foundation.  The scholarship provides significant financial support for a student to overcome the challenges associated with undertaking study from this geographically isolated area.

Eligibility:

  • have applied and deemed eligible by CEF Central Australia
  • be approved for an offer of place or enrolled on a full time basis in an undergraduate Degree.
  • not hold any other major scholarship exceeding the value of $2000 per annum.

Amount: $21,000 over 3 years

Snow Foundation - CEF Scholarships

CEF has worked with the Snow Foundation for many years. As well as supporting a number of CEF projects, they also provide additional scholarships to grant recipients from the local foundations of Shoalhaven, Snowy Monaro, Yass, Goulburn and Braidwood.

Three Rivers UDRH - CEF Scholarships

Proudly supported by Charles Sturt University through the Three Rivers Department of Rural Health, extra funding and opportunities are available to students from the Three Rivers footprint, studying health at Charles Sturt University.

Tilt Renewables - CEF Scholarships

Proudly supported by  Tilt Renewables, extra funding and opportunities are available to students from Rye Park, Boorowa and Yass studying STEM, business, finance, information technology or construction.

UNE - CEF Scholarships

Thanks to our partnership with the University of New England Foundation, we have targeted scholarships available annually for eligible UNE students.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must;

  • Be deemed eligible by your local foundation in the selected UNE strategic footprint of-  Moree, Walgett, Namoi, Nyngan, Gwydir and Coolah.
  • Be offered a place or enrolled in your 1st year of an undergraduate degree at University of New England (UNE). Note: Preference is given to 1st years, however, if an outstanding student presents in 2nd or 3rd year, they may be considered.

Further details – Each of the 6 local foundations listed above in the UNE strategic footprint will award a total of $4,000, post-census date after confirmation of enrolment to selected students.

UNSW - CEF Scholarships

Thanks to our partnership with the UNSW Access, Equity & Inclusion team, we have four scholarships available annually.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must;

  • Be deemed eligible by your local NSW foundation
  • Be offered a place and enrolled in your 1st year of an undergraduate degree at UNSW
  • Maintain the equivalent full-time student load and achieve an overall WAM of 50 or more to continue to be awarded the scholarship funds annually.

Amount – $5,000, per annum, for the minimum duration of your undergraduate degree up to four years, with possibility of extension for longer programs.

How to apply – Apply to your local foundation plus apply for admission to study at UNSW.

Waratah Education Foundation - CEF Scholarships (NSW)

Waratah Education Foundation’s vision for education in Australia is an educational system where every child is afforded the opportunity to realise their academic potential. As well as supporting various CEF projects, they also provide additional scholarships to grant recipients from NSW local foundations.

Waratah Education Foundation

William McIlrath - CEF Scholarships (Namoi)

Thanks to the generosity of the William McIlrath Charitable Foundation, CEF Namoi offers the following scholarships.

William McIlrath Foundation – CEF  Scholarship.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must;

  • be aged 16-25 years
  • have lived in or attended school in CEF Namoi region for a period of at least five years.
  • be approved for an offer of place or enrolled on a full time basis in an undergraduate Degree in NSW.
  • be identified by CEF Namoi as requiring support.

Eligibility – eligible for a grant from CEF Namoi
Value – $22,000 over 3 years

William McIlrath Resilience Scholarship

The WMRS is valued at $10,000, paid over one year, and is awarded to a student that demonstrates not only great financial need, but also strength of character, and a determination to succeed and overcome any possible obstacle/s in their pursuit to further their education.

CEF Namoi believes in vibrant and thriving rural and regional communities where school-leavers of any background or ability can access the services and resources they need in order to fulfil their personal potential and contribute fully to the communities in which they live and broader Australian society.

To be eligible, students must;

  • be aged 16-25 years
  • have lived in or attended school in CEF Namoi region for a period of at least five years.
  • be identified by CEF Namoi as requiring support.
  • demonstrate  great financial need and strength of character, and a determination to succeed

Verto - CEF Scholarship (VET)

Thanks to the generosity of VERTO Limited, CEF offers the VERTO – CEF  Scholarships. To be eligible for this scholarship you must;

  • have applied and deemed eligible for a local NSW CEF grant
  • be undertaking an apprenticeship, traineeship or VET sector training
  • Demonstrate exceptional need

ACCOMMODATION SCHOLARSHIPS

CEF Extra includes accommodation opportunities. To be eligible, CEF students need to have applied and been accepted for a place at the institution AND apply directly with their CEF local foundation.

Please apply promptly to the college before the individual closing dates.

Dunmore Lang - CEF Scholarship (Sydney)

The Dunmore Lang College – CEF  Scholarship is a part all-inclusive accommodation scholarship at Dunmore Lang Sydney. To be eligible for this scholarship you;

  • Must be approved for an offer of a place or enrolled at the College.
  • Applied and be eligible for a CEF Grant

The successful student will still need to fund the remaining accommodation costs which is approximately $10,000pa.

If you are interested in this scholarship, we suggest you complete the Dunmore Lang College application form as soon as possible, ideally by 31st December while you are waiting to hear back from your local foundation.

Amount – Approximately 1/2 of your college fees ($10,545 in 2023)

ICMS - CEF Scholarship (Sydney)

The International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) scholarship program rewards the most promising students based on their effort, dedication, attitude and aptitude, demonstrated business acumen and motivation. This scholarship is a part accommodation and tuition scholarship at ICMS in Sydney.

To be eligible for this scholarship you;

  • Must be approved for an offer of a place or enrolled in an applicable Bachelor degree for 1st year at ICMS.
  • Submit the completed ICMS Scholarship application form by the due date.
  • Applied and be eligible for a local grant.

The successful student will still need to fund the remaining accommodation and tuition costs.

If you are interested in this scholarship, complete the ICMS – CEF Scholarship Application Form form as soon as possible, certainly no later than 5pm, 30th November while you are waiting to hear back from your local foundation.

Value – Up to $16,916 (Approximately 1/3 of your first year accommodation fees* and $10,000 credited towards your tuition).
How to apply – Apply to your local foundation plus apply to ICMS

Closing date – Apply to ICMS before 5pm, 30th November 2023 and your foundation before applications close. Check dates with your CEF local foundation.

#Panel interviews will be conducted by ICMS as a final stage prior to scholarship selections.
*Can exclude the ICMS Regional and Interstate Student Accommodation Bursary.

 

RMC - CEF Scholarship (Sydney)

Robert Menzies College – CEF Scholarships are 5 x part College scholarships at Robert Menzies College (RMC) located in Macquarie Park, Sydney. To be eligible for this scholarship you;

  • Must be approved for an offer of a place or currently at the College.
  • Applied and be eligible for a CEF Grant

RMC is an alcohol and smoke free college that has 3 different room types with 3 different meal plans (fully-catered, semi-catered & self-catered), see https://rmc.org.au/accommodation/

RMC offers and environment that fosters academic growth and development by providing the support necessary to help students learn and grow during their university experience.

If you are interested in this scholarship, complete the Robert Menzies College application form as soon as possible, ideally by 31st December while you are waiting to hear back from your local foundation.

Amount –The scholarship offers a 1/3 reduction on the room and meal plan of choice, typically between $6,500-$8,400. The successful student will still need to fund the remaining accommodation costs.

Closing date – Robert Menzies College before 3rd February 2024 and your CEF local foundation before applications close. Check dates with your local foundation

St Andrews College - CEF Scholarships (Sydney)

St Andrews College – CEF Scholarships
In partnership with St Andrews College, Sydney

Up to $35,000 in accommodation scholarships available in 2024 / Applications close December 31, 2023.

Apply directly to St Andrews College AND to CEF.

Available for successful Bursary applicants of St Andrews College, Sydney and who are eligible for a CEF grant.

St Martins College - CEF Scholarship (Wagga)

St Martin’s College – CEF  Scholarships are 3 x part self-catered accommodation scholarships at St Martin’s College located at Charles Sturt Wagga Wagga. To be eligible for this scholarship you;

  • Must be approved for an offer of a place or enrolled at the College.
  • Applied and be eligible for a CEF Grant

The successful student will still need to fund the remaining accommodation costs which is approximately $4,715pa.

If you are interested in this scholarship, complete the St Martin’s College application form as soon as possible, ideally by 31st December while you are waiting to hear back from your local foundation.

Amount – $2,500 (just over 1/3 of your total annual college fees)
How to apply – Apply to your local foundation plus apply to St Martin’s College.
Closing date – St Martin’s before December 31st 2023 and your CEF local foundation before applications close. Check dates with your local foundation.
