The extended CEF family

We are fortunate to have a great team of Australians who care deeply about education, young people and the future of rural and regional Australia.

Our former Patron and Ambassador, The Hon Tim Fischer, AC former Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, was a wonderful supporter and strong advocate for our work in rural and regional Australia.

“Good education provides not only individuals with keys for a positive future, individual meshing cogs to create real progress but also the seeds on which the fabric of the nation can build and progress. The Country Education Foundation is a great facilitator in this regard, a great overall cog in the machinery of the nation – it is deserving of wide support.”

The Late Hon Tim Fischer AC, Former CEF Patron, former Deputy Prime Minister of Australia

Our Board and staff

We are governed by an experienced and committed volunteer Board of Directors, many who have been with us since the inception of CEF in 1993.

Our ‘home’, which was generously donated to us in 2018, is in Orange NSW and houses a small, dedicated and passionate team of staff to manage the day to day operations and do what we do best – support our communities and their young people.

Our volunteers across rural and regional Australia

Local CEFs are all run by our fabulous volunteers – teams of committed people representing a broad cross section of their communities. They include people prominent in education, business, agriculture, community and government.

CEF ignites awareness and passion for education in rural, regional and remote Australian communities – and our committees and local education foundations are made up of volunteers who share that passion and commitment.

Our students and alumni

Since 1993, CEF has supported over 6000 rural and regional students into further education and training. Seeing them succeed is why we do what we do.

Many of our alumni are returning to their communities and ‘giving back’ by volunteering on their local committees or by donating. They are also our greatest advocates in spreading the good work that we do.

Our patron and ambassadors

Our patron and ambassadors are members of our community who are just as passionate about creating opportunities for young rural and regional people as we are.

They volunteer their time to help us spread the word and increase reach and engagement for the betterment of our regional youth and communities.
