Student Support Key to Success

With the world returning to normal and travel on the cards, CEF is proud to offer and support opportunities for connection. Because of the importance of these activities to participation and completion outcomes, it is a facet of our work that continues to grow.

From university open days and experience camps offering students valuable insights to university life, to casual ‘catch ups’ connecting our current students with each other and university support teams, our very own Emma Burns has been extremely busy organising, facilitating and chaperoning these events.

MORNING AND AFTERNOON TEAS

In collaboration with our education partners, we have started facilitating morning and afternoon teas for CEF supported students on various university campuses. These events give our students time to meet others from regional areas, creating a sense of connectedness and reducing the isolation they might  feel as a result of leaving home and moving to the city.

They also provide the opportunity to connect with university equity staff, ensuring they have a point of contact and have the support they need to successfully transition to post-school education.

OPEN DAYS AND EXPERIENCE CAMPS

These events give year 11 and 12 students the opportunity to experience campus life first-hand. Such experiences can be very important in helping students decide what to do and where to go after school.

Open days and experience camps are run in conjunction with our partners. They are fully funded for students, ensuring they can access opportunities that will inform their decision without any financial burden – something we know they are already acutely aware of.
