After a false start last year thanks to the pandemic, we were excited to hold our volunteer national conference on the 22nd October at the Vibe Hotel in Canberra. The day was packed with information and ideas creating a wonderful feeling of collaboration in the room.
It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the incredible volunteers we have – those who work passionately, tirelessly and without asking for recognition or reward to support our rural and regional youth.
You can view some of the great images captured during the day a little further down this page.
A special thanks goes to Richard Austin, Sharon Richens, Rizwan Khan and Dr. Lara Drew from CEF national partner organisations Mutual Marketplace, Altius Group, Australian National University and University of Canberra respectively, for giving their time to inform and inspire us all!
We were also officially able to recognise Margaret Carey from Grenfell and Justin Fleming from Boorowa, our Katie Walker Volunteer Outstanding Service award recipients for 2021 and 2022.
The day was summed up with words from our Chairman, Nick Burton Taylor, and an insightful address from our new Patron Judy Brewer, on the importance of volunteering and connected communities.
Finally, in a beautiful surprise moment for our volunteers, a number of CEF students and alumni unexpectedly entered the room to say thank you.
