Yass District Education Fund Adopts National CEF Brand

Country Education Foundation of Yass Valley is wholly committed to their community and driven to support the aspirations and educational pursuits of their youth. Founding member and secretary, Katie Walker, believes the Foundation will benefit greatly under its new branding, formally adopting the Country Education Foundation of Australia national branding in May.

Local Foundation:
CEF Yass Valley

Years Active:
25

Number of Grants Awarded:
367

Total Funding Awarded:
$449,834

“Yass was the second ever CEF foundation, so we felt it’s important to adopt the national branding,” Katie said. Formerly the Yass District Education Foundation, its committee voted unanimously in favour of changing its name to the Country Education Foundation of Yass Valley at a special meeting on the 24th May.

The Foundation amended its constitution to formally adopt the new name, and also adopted the national CEF logo which it will use for all its branding. Mrs Walker said it “made sense” for her foundation to align itself with the national CEF brand.

CEF Yass Valley Chairman Fiona Gorman said the committee adopted the national branding because of the benefits and recognition that CEF as a national organisation provides. “[CEF Head of Development & Communities] Lisa Carrick has been wonderful in leading us through the recent name change and we are very grateful. She has also attended some of our presentation evenings and our special meeting to adopt the name change.”

I would like to acknowledge the staff at CEF Australia. They are so helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating with our queries and requests. A quick phone call sorts out most issues.

CEF’s Chief Executive Officer, Juliet Petersen, said the national organization and newly renamed CEF Yass Valley will work closely together to help more rural and regional youth pursue post-school education. “As a local foundation that existed before our national entity was created in 2003, it has created a legacy in the community, and we are thrilled they have adopted the national brand.”

“Our 45 local foundations have great impact in their regions, individually and collectively. We can continue to make a difference more widely as we increase our footprint, presence and voice as a truly national organisation helping rural and regional students to unlock their full potential,” said Ms. Petersen.
